Any recommendations for a 7 seater SUV that's around the 20k mark?

depends what you want

reality is you can buy a brand new Dacia Jogger in the top Extreme trim level for that. If you go lightly used you could probably just about haggle the top spec 1.6 hybrid auto. Get it serviced at a main dealer and they'll extend the warranty for each year until 7 years and 75k miles.

Not sure what other 7 seater you'll get with any manufacturer warranty for 20k

Berlingo / Rifter / Combo / Proace city in XL form. And you can get them with either manual or auto, with the higher powered diesel not being a bad option. I think you'll get under 20k comfortably with a 1-2 year old car still in warranty.

I was going to suggest the same, no other 7 seater crossover comes close on price, top trim levels are pretty well equipped too.

I would second this, loads of room, cheap insurance, cheap parts, lots of mechanical knowledge about in terms of maintenance and repairs, good value to buy.

Avoid the electric as the range is abysmal unless 90% of your driving is short journeys.

If you want a 7 seater SUV it has to be the Kia Sorento

This is what I did, 1.0l in extreme se spec. The thought of spending £18k+ on a 4 years old moon mileage touran or sorrento was depressing

We bought a Discovery 4, a great car with 7 full size seats!
Only probem is that anytime in went into an LR specialist it used to cost at least £1k for them to lift the bonnet...

Would definitely have another though

Plenty of Merc GLs for sale under £20K. They are unloved now that diesel is the global pariah but at that price you're not looking at the latest or lowest mileages, and they are an on-going financial commitment (personal experience).

See if you can find one with the off road options (low range, height adjustable suspension, underbody protection plates and diff lockers) and they're surprisingly capable.

The third seating row is comfortable for people up to about 5ft8.
