Group or Cluster buying: Anyone tried this concept?

Some of the better leasing deals I've seen in 2024 on PH happened because AFAIK, car manufacturers decided to dump a few amount of specific models on the market at very attractive prices (Honda Eny1, Nissan Ariya). Based on a concept popularized by the likes of Groupon (and so many copycats), could a group or cluster buying programme for cars or lease cars be a thing?

Isn't that exactly what a leasing company/broker is and does?

They get competitive deals from the source and sell them to individual consumers?

I guess the missing part is if an entity like Pistonheads could do it given its audience or reach.
It would replace the middleman the way Wowcher or Groupon did,
