Just put a car on FB Marketplace (yes, yes, I know rolleyes ) and had what appeared to be quite a legitimate looking interested party start messaging me.

Then after a bit he asks me to get a “Quickvins” report for him, supplies the URL…

It’s a fair idea, it was just the way it came up. They’re £29 which is ridiculous. It set alarm bells ringing. A quick google and it seems a common scam.

Presented him with the info and boom! He’s gone. What a tt.

So, as usual, watch yourselves.

So I’m a bit slow on the uptake with these scams sometimes;

Is this someone from the good folks at Quick Vins drumming up business or what ?

New one on me. Scammers are inventive.

Buyeyr should get such reports, not sellers.

If you/the buyer need a basic check...pretend to list your car on Autotrader and it will do a basic check for you for write off and a few other things.

Saves all these expensive types of checks if you are buying a shed type of car.

Probably after your financial details. Also not a native English speaker, or a copy and paste - "accidental details".

One of the many variations of the car check report scam(s).

Various other similar ones (including PH variations) on this thread - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

As soon as they use American phrases such as Lien or Clean Title, then it's a scam.

Although there's enough US influences, confusing UK based mouth breathing Facebook window licking wannabees to being such billocks into common use by the stupids.
