Hi,

I have and end of lease inspection coming up and there is some damage on the fornt trim of my Nissan leaf. Inspection to be done by BCA Logistics (BCAL)

What is your suggestion on what I should do?

Get it done outside before giving it back

Leave it as it is and take the damage charges when inspection happens.

Any other expert opinion please?

Ta

Seems to be about £150 for that part

Simple DIY job by the looks.

No idea what they will penalise you for it though if you leave it.

Can you just unbolt in and hope they don't notice it is missing?

Don’t think that piece is fitted to the newer ones. I’d remove it.

My van went back monday via BCA. One of the wheels was pretty badly kerbed and i debated getting it fixed before it went back, in the end I left it and they charged me £50 for a diamond cut wheel.

Given my previous dealings with having a wheel refurb i wouldn't have got it done anywhere near £50.

I'd be inclined to leave it

This. Buy the part and do it yourself. If you remove it they may not spot it on the day but could do after the inspection and charge you.

I don't want to be dismissive of the work ethic of the good folk at the auction house, but I can't see that they would do that thorough an inspection once it gets back to their compound and also be such a font of knowledge of Nissan Leaves (sic) that someone would spot a missing under spoiler and care enough to go back and charge the original customer.

If they have a photo on your driveway that shows it missing, yeah that's that. If they don't, they're sure as hell not charging me after they take the car away. That opens you up to a whole bunch of "our driver might have kerbed the wheel driving back to our compound, but we think it was you so we're going to charge you" type of issues.

I think you should replace the part OP, seems an ok-ish price from the links provided. Normally I'm inclined to take damage charges, but they may define this as a 'panel' which could push costs up. You should hand the car back in the condition you received it, within reason. Unbolting parts and hoping you get away with it doesn't really fall under wear and tear in my book.
