Car for lots of short journeys
Discussion
I'm looking at changing my car soon and I've been looking at the G20 BMW 330e, they look to have a good blend of performance, economy and practicality and all for under £17k (my budget). Is there anything else that I've missed? I need the seats/doors and space that the 330e has as it's a family run about, but I'm wondering if any other cars would be a better choice? The car hasn't got to be a hybrid, but a hybrid does seem to fit my needs if it can run on full electric for a reasonable amount of miles.
Any thoughts?

I’ve never driven one but those that have rave about the i3 if you want a BMW that fits your use case/needs…
The i3 is really bad to drive outside of a town. I’m always very confused when reading that they’re ’fun to drive’ - I’ve driven plenty of them and the driving dynamics are really quite shocking for a BMWToyota Corolla hybrid?
Brilliant around town, good MPG and a 10y warranty when serviced at Toyota (who are great to deal with)
Plenty in your budget, stay away from the older 2.0 as it compromises boot capacity
For further context, my Wife uses a 2020 GR version for her work as a community Nurse and does lots (and lots) of short trips - some days she'll do 15-20 journeys of less than 1 mile.
3 years in and it's only needed regular servicing, front tyres are going to last circa 15k.
19mph and 46mpg average..

The CVT is perfect around town.
I dont understand anyone who drives a CVT and is ok with it tbh....I drove a hybrid with one and it was like going back to the 1970sRusty Old-Banger said:
