E220d or E300 petrol?

My partner is wanting an e class coupe - She’s conflicted due to the differences between the 2018 and 2019 models. Looking for some advice on the options available to her
Her options are;
2019 e220d or e300 petrol
Interior wise, this is her primary choice because of a) the additional ambient lighting in the vents (although I believe this can be retrofitted) and b) the dual screen display
Or
2018 e350d or e450 petrol
Six cyl engine but older interior.
Her use case is mostly local driving but 2x drives from London to Manchester every month. Currently has a 320i
In an ideal world the budget would stretch to a 2019 e400d but unfortunately it doesn’t.
Do we have any experience of the e220d/e300 petrol?

I had a 2019 E350 convertible, which is the E300 with some mild hybrid stuff to give it an extra 50bhp or so. Fantastic car, which bar a propensity for punctures in the (optional) 20” run flats, was faultless over 3 years and 42k miles. Brilliant long distance cruiser - and indeed I took it down to Italy via France and the also, and back through Austria and Germany in the summer of 2020 in between lockdowns. I think all of the 2019 onwards ones have the full digital dash. Premium plus pack I think adds memory seats, burmeister sound and, in the coupe, the panoramic roof. So I would look for one with that and, if you can find one, the driver assistance pack as that gives you adaptive cruise and the 360 degree surround camera stuff. I didn’t even consider the E220, but mine was a convertible. A diesel coupe seems less incongruous than a diesel convertible. The coupes and convertibles also came in some nice colours - or at least different to the usual silver/grey/black that most saloons and estates are!
Edited to add, for short journeys I can’t imagine either of the diesels make much sense as they’ll probably end up with dpf issues I’d have thought?

A lot of the reviews I have read seem to say that the E300 (Probably the 350 too) require a lot of work at higher speeds and can sound very droney when pressed on. Is this the case in your experience? I sat in a 300 at idle/low revs it sounded quite nice
re: DPF, she will be doing 2x stints from London to Manc every month so that should hopefully prevent any major issues.
Go for the E350d it's the pick get a AMG Line Premium Plus & she should get all the kit she's looking for:

I think she wanted the 2019 models purely for the full digital dash and mainly the “better” ambient lighting in the vents etc.
Can probably sway her on the dash, but I’d have to look into retrofitting the ambient lighting - As I understand, the only difference is the lighting in the vents?

Thanks! That's rubellite red. The soundproofing and gearing was such that, even in the convertible, I don't recall it being droney on long journeys, and I did many long journeys in it. In 9th at 80 I'm not even sure it was doing 2krpm. My recollection is that it was a very refined car to waft around in.
