A modern version of a 1985 Audi 80 Sport.
Discussion
I’ve had a lot of cars over the last 40 years, including two 3.2 Carreras, a 964, two Boxsters, Clio 182s, DC2 and even an E30 M3.
The car I owned for the longest ever was a 1985 Audi 80 Sport, with the 8v 1.8 engine also fitted to the Golf Gti (I have had a few of those as well, come to think of it). It was fast enough, compliant and handled well (I had a Bilstein handling kit on it).
Recently I’ve been wondering what the modern equivalent would be and I’m think Alfa Giulia 2.0. Reasonably affordable, pretty quick, handles nicely, not too heavy and reportedly a decent ride on the shocking surfaces which pass for roads.
Any other options?
