Best way to find and buy a rare car in the UK?
Discussion
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a uncommon car in the UK (Vauxhall Monaro, 6.0L, black (but will settle for any of the three colours available), without excessive mods or an excessive price tag) and after months of looking on common car sale websites and trying car specific forums I just can't find anything close to what I want... Any ideas/advice on how I go about finding the car???
Thanks for any help

Several others advertised on Ebay, and one on Car and Classic.
Thanks, eBay is a bit of a difficult one as there has been a couple on there that have been tempting but I'm still not sure on buying a car over eBay I have looked at the one on car and classic and like it, couple of red flags (for me) on that one so haven't pulled the trigger on going to check it out.

Facebook owners groups are usually the best bet these days, stick a post up and you’ll probably get some replies.
Hahaha, as ridiculous as it might sound I haven't checked out Facebook. Thanks I'll give that a go, I really should have already as a number of the forums mentioned Facebook as the place for discussion (Facebook killed the forum star...).AuAsterix said:

I’m aware that colour is a personal preference, but of all the colours available black would be my last choice, it just hides the lines of the car so much.
The advertised on PH looks in good condition, dealer has good reviews; my only concern, the right side of the steering wheel has excessive wear ‘drifting’?

I always make the right side of the wheel shinier than the rest - as I’m using my right hand to hold the wheel one handed a wouldn’t be something I’d worry too much about.
I get that, but this one looks particularly bad when compared to the rest of the car. I may also be talking complete horlickds.daqinggregg said:
I did put a question mark next to it, and point out I could be talking horlicks. Still think my point on colour stands.
To be honest none of the three colours available for the 6.0L, black, silver or red, are my favourite (the 5.7L has better options). The best (in my opinion) is Fusion Orange Metallic on the Holden Monaro CV8-Z.Edited by AuAsterix on Monday 1st April 17:42

You don'r buy the car from Ebay, you buy it from the seller once you've seen it in the flesh & it's a good enough of an example for you to part with your money.I have looked at the one on car and classic and like it, couple of red flags (for me) on that one so haven't pulled the trigger on going to check it out.
