Pretty solid cars with a really nice interior.
I think Allure spec is all you really need. GT line adds nice luxuries especially the panoramic roof.
The 1.2L petrol would be my choice I’ve drove it in an automatic 208 and it’s good. Works well with the gearbox is really smooth for normal driving. No experience of the diesel but seems well reviewed.
Things to point out is to make sure you look over the steering wheel not through it. The dash is designed as an integrated heads up style. My big negative is that the lane keeping assist is quite intrusive in the Peugeots I really don’t like it and recommend switching it off.

Currently have one as a hire car. I wouldn’t describe the 1.2 petrol as ‘good’ - gutless and coarse would be 2 of the words that spring to mind. I think Allure spec is all you really need. GT line adds nice luxuries especially the panoramic roof.

It’s a good little engine (although with a checkered past). Had a few as hire cars and it’s perfectly adequate for the job in hand. 0-60 in just under 10secs is fine for most people. The belts went through a few phases and the later the better but make sure the correct oil is used and that there’s history of it being changed regularly.
Try and get the 8sp autobox. Very good and smooth and gets the most of out it.
ETA, diesels are good but usual caveat of making sure you use it enough not to stuff up the emissions gubbins

I say this as in the context of the general population. Obviously it’s not PH standard but for A to B it’s perfectly fine and quite efficient.
I've driven the 1.2 automatic in other cars, it is a good engine.
There are multiple power specifications, best is the 130hp one as fuel economy isn't much lower than the others but it has good power.
Before 2017 I believe there are issues with the wet timing belt disintegrating due to the belt material not being up to it. Later models have a newer design of belt that avoids the issues.
