Looking on the **t*Tr*d*r website there is not a single brand new saloon or estate Mercedes available for sale!

What has happened? Where are they all?
There are a total of 1915 new saloons and estates
BMW 911
Audi 351
Jaguar 76
Ford 31
Vauxhall 15
Mercedes 0

I realise that SUVs are very popular, but no MB saloons or estates? Not a single E class or C class?

I think they're not on AT as Mercedes control sales of all new cars centrally. They don't need AT if there's only 1 place to buy a new Merc.

E.g. if I go to my local franchised dealer website and click new cars it takes me to the main UK Mercedes Web ' shop'

AFAIK Mercedes control the pricing, the dealership is really just the agent from which to view/collect/service the car.

There's no Merc SUVs on AT either, only commercials.

Fair enough, is that why there are 911 BMWs and only 31 Fords? Some are doing this central purchasing thing and some aren't? It's as simple as that?

Surely the issue with Ford is they no longer sell 'saloons and estates' in the UK to start with?

Yep there are over a 1000 new Fords on the AT website and that won't be the whole market either they have 221 new Porsches listed but there are around 1000 at the dealers.

Why aren’t you looking at SUV’s and wanting to look only at Saloons or Estatesconfused

I found it strange that there were no E Class, or C Class saloons or estates for sale, brand new, on AT. There always used to be. I then looked a little further and found, what I thought was a wide disparity between the different makes. I forgot to include hatchbacks.

It is simply my curiosity. Please don't take this too seriously.

In the diminishing world of car choice for those of us that loathe SUV’s and EV’s, the Mercedes showroom seems like a good place to start.

We found this last week at our local Mercedes dealer. Outside was very little used/ demonstrator stock with only 1 GLC diesel and about a dozen EQx models. Went to JLR, BMW and Volvo with plenty stock on the forecourt

With most of my mates it's the wives that want the SUVs. The blokes that are bothered about cars almost invariably want normal cars.
