Hi All,

In the grand tapestry of the automotive universe, where the roar of engines and the shine of polished chrome ignite the passions of countless souls, there emerges a curious and somewhat perplexing interloper: artificial intelligence, a mechanized muse tasked with the creation of ads for these steel steeds. Once heralded as the harbingers of a new era, where the convergence of technology and creativity would usher in an age of unparalleled marketing marvels, these digital wordsmiths have, alas, stumbled upon the cobblestones of linguistic finesse.

Within this illustrious forum, a sanctuary for the gasoline-infused dreams of aficionados and enthusiasts alike, we find ourselves on the cusp of a discussion most intriguing and fraught with the potential for fervent debate. The issue at hand is the peculiar and often bewildering prose birthed by these silicon scribes in their attempts to ensnare the hearts of potential car buyers. These advertisements, crafted in the crucible of algorithms and data, often stray into realms of absurdity and incomprehensibility, weaving narratives that, while rich in vocabulary, lack the soulful essence that true automotive passion imparts.

Let us embark upon a journey of exploration and discourse, a voyage through the veritable jungle of jumbled jargon and misplaced metaphors that these artificial artisans produce. May our conversation illuminate the shadows cast by these digital denizens, offering insights both profound and profuse into the curious case of AI-generated car ads that, in their quest for persuasion, venture instead into the vale of verbosity.

I'm getting a little irritated, seeing the poor use of Large Language Models such as ChatGPT, being used to write car adverts. Let's use this space to find the worst, share and eradicate this behaviour....

eBay's AI description feature is beyond useless for cars, it baffles me how it's being used so often.

A paragraph about the cars shiny colour and how many doors its got is the last thing you want as a used car buyer.

I hadn't realised such a feature existed - but I had noticed what were obviously A.I. produced ad's. When considering buying a Thunderbird Sport, I really need to be informed how the vibrant yellow paint will draw attention to the rider's taste and discretion and demand respect upon any entrance... No, I need to know if the sprag clutch has been changed!

I mean HROWEN... c'mon

US English always gives it away.... "emphasizes"

The Ferrari LaFerrari, often referred to simply as "LaFerrari," was officially unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It represents Ferrari's flagship model, a hypercar that combines the brand's Formula One technology with cutting-edge hybrid systems for unparalleled performance. The name itself, which translates to "The Ferrari" in Italian, emphasizes its significance in the brand's lineup.

In summary, LaFerrari is more than a car; it's a symbol of automotive excellence and a testament to Italian craftsmanship.

This is for a £3.5mn car. And thats the best they can do.

I thought you meant the photos with terrible artificial backdrops. They’re wk

I suppose you have to bear in mind your average car dealer IQ so to them anything with ’artificial intelligence’ probably sounds like a great idea

Since the eBay AI listing tool went live i've noticed more & more listings inflicted with the bullst AI wall of text descriptions.

Although it certainly shows just how lazy a large amount of people are nowadays that they can't be bothered to write something themselves. I'm even seeing the descriptions on used car part listings now where in the old days it would be a simple description of what the item is, age, condition, etc, but now it's one or two massive paragraphs saying how great the part was when it was brand new, all the benefits it offers, quoting the name of the manufacturer repeatedly, etc banghead

I saw one recently which was for a carbon fibre interior trim for an Abarth. Within the massive wall of text it referenced the fact the part was made of carbon fibre 5 times, gave a massive load of text about how parts like this are amazing for improving the performance of the car (it wouldn't - it was a carbon insert for the steering wheel), how carbon fibre parts improve the looks and will make people jealous laugh and the end of nearly every sentence ended with "... choice for your Abarth 595". banghead

What thick st actually posts or authorises this bks using whatever tool they use, and doesn’t even read it

“ The ‘----’ trim means the car is equipped with ‘----’ as standard. What really makes this vehicle stand out from its competitors though is being equipped with the optional extra ‘----’ which includes ‘----’. ”

This one wins so far. And for an expensive car, it's shambolic. Let's get this trending and shame them all!!!
