What are the other reasons for a DVLA mileage entry on a cars history other than when a keeper has been changed?
Someone has asked me to do a history check on a car that has an entry last year with no keeper change or anything, I am a bit suspicious of it because the number is consistent with the usage but 5k higher than advertised.

MOT.
Sale to trade.

Possibly requesting a new V5C because you've changed address?

Most main dealers can provide data to the NMR as well as leasing companies etc.

MOT is listed separately
I think a lot of lease companies etc are listed separately eg BVRLA is listed on some checks I have done but it's the DVLA specific ones I am interested in.

Looking at my oldest v5s from about 6+ years ago they have a combined section to change your address or sell to new keeper, this includes a mileage section, but newer v5s have a change of address section without the mileage box.
I have no idea if they accept the the mileage from an older form with a change of address or not, definitely seems possible but I am a bit suspicious that something else has gone on. I have seen cars which have a write of category recorded against them that isn't recorded until months sometimes years after and by then has gone through multiple owner changes.
