Hi, appreciate this is probably a difficult question to answer but has anyone got experience of selling their car on commission? If so what sort of percentage is taken by a dealer with good reputation and quality showroom for a fairly desirable car c£120k. Also, who is responsible for advertising and associated costs?

Anywhere between 5 & 8% normally for an SOR ( sale or return) car. Leave all the advertising , car prep etc to them.

Don’t think I would ever do sor without some concrete contract and moneys always coming to you. Seen to many times folk losing out on the money due to dealers having cash problems. I’m sure it’s only a small percentage but sod that.

Obviously need a contract and reputation of Dealer needs to be exemplary not just good.
For the SOR fee that should include everything including Insurance and the like if applicable.
The last car I sold this way the percentage fee was just under 6%.

5-8% typical as per a previous poster.

Give either Tom @ TWG Sports Cars or Phil @ Phillip Ireland a call for a chat. Both proper chaps who do things the right way, I used to work with Tom years ago & I used to work for Phil many moons ago so can vouch for both.

Cheers,

Chris
