Hi guys, I'm going to change my car. I have currently drive a 2019 A6 50TDI Avant for work on lease which ends at the end of May. Unfortunately I can'r extend again, but hands down, this is the best car I've ever had. I'm not worried about BIK as I can run it through my sole trader account. I'm going to buy something used with around 30-40k miles on it as I can't get the same again and lease rates are stupid.

I'm seriously considering either 2012-2018 Model S6 V8T or 2018-2018 S8. Does anyone have any experience running these? Things to look out for? Any advice is much appreciated.

Anyone that has watched the Transporter Film franchise knows that the S8 has about 15 gears, so in the absence of any sensible advice I would go with the S8

If you made good use of your Avant model, the move to an S6 with estate body will suit - otherwise, the S8 wins all day. It's just that bit more.. everything.

Why not go the full hog and get an RS6? You'll get a reasonably good one for S8 money.

I don't think an RS6 would be suitable for my job. Maybe a bit too 'loud' and not comfortable for 20k per year.

Fair enough, though as an owner I don't think you'd have any problem with the comfort side of things.

They all share the same engine, the 4.0 V8. Make sure the oil strainer recall has been done but otherwise they're pretty bulletproof. S models don't have the DRC suspension to go wrong so no worries there either. Mid 2010s was a good time for Audi.
