Hey everyone,

Will be selling my BMW M340i soon, had a estimate price from Motorway around just over £31k. I know its difficult to predict the used car market but what do you think, are the prices going to drop even more or likely to pick up?
I'm not desperate to sell as my new is arriving around May.

Not sure whether to sell it now or hang on for a couple of months

Thanks.

what year is it as that's a good price and worth considering as the private market is very slow right now.

I personally wouldnt purchase an m340i saloon for above 30k now for the pre facelift.

Spring is generally a good time to sell. I think car prices will continue to drop slowly

As others have said Spring is usually a good time to sell. People have paid for Christmas and aren't thinking too much about summer holidays!

I really don't know but I can see prices dropping a bit as they seemed to climb rapidly post-Covid and don't seem to have quite got back to normal yet.

But if you think that's a good offer and can get by without the car until May then maybe it's worth taking as I can't see it increasing.

I think it’s nearly impossible to predict the right time especially with the current climate.

Unfortunately I’d maybe just base it on what you are happy to accept and that be it so as to prevent any remorse.

What makes you think prices will rise on that particular car?

Those in the know claim the next 12 months will see prices gradually drop, may be some truth in this.

Simple answer is before lots come off 4 year lease deals… I did that with my X3M as realised lots were sold in a short space of time in 2919 on cheap pcp deals - sold at a good price via car wow and it’s now sitting at a dealer for less than they paid me

I think someone from Motorway mentioned it in January that prices should pick up around March time.
