Looking at buying a nearly new q5. Anyone driven both the sport and s line model? I've had cars with over firm suspension and don't want to make a mistake as I like a level of comfort

Get old V6T 3.0 SQ5. Best car my wife ever had.

Yes. Found the difference in comfort / ride negligible. although the S-Line was on 19s not 20s.

Not sure if its standard or if I just didn't check as I drove the Sport first, but the S-line had the drive mode option and not much noticeable difference, IMO, between Comfort, Sport, Dynamic etc

Struggled with the gear box more, which in Drive tries to change up too much, but in Sport kicks down two gears lower and hangs on to a gear too long

I bought a Q5 Sport brand new in 2021 and sold it after 6 months and about 8k miles as the seats were really uncomfortable on long runs - not evident on the short test drive.

My nephew has an s-line and no such issues so perhaps isolated to the sport as they have different seats. The metal of the seat frame starts to dig through around the hips after a while on the Sport - and I'm not a big/fat guy!

I thought the sport handled and rode well though - good balance of being taut enough on the twisty bits without being too crashy over uneven roads.

Thank you, I placed a deposit on an S Line today. I drove one (not driven a Sport) and was very impressed with the way it went around corners. Maybe a bit firm on really bad roads but seemed a decent compromise.
