You're tasked with delivering a package 2,000 miles across Europe. It needs to be delivered asap so it's a lot of hours behind the wheel.

The package is about the size of a guitar case.

You have £10,000 to spend on a car to carry out the task.

Your petrol can be claimed back from the company so MPG is not an issue.

Which car do you take?

Hello there.

I can't quote it as it was in the last volume but W00DY picked another Daimler cracker, although the pics do show the awkwardness of the LWB shape.

Set cruise to 100mph and enjoy Jag comfort. Normally hate diesel but stopping knackers your average speed so the devil's Dino juice it is

This sounds suspiciously like an Albert Haddock scenario...

A diesel with the extra large fuel tank option.

My choice would have to be... (if I get to keep it afterwards). A bodykit I've not seen before, silver and chrome details stand out without looking gawdy or drug-dealer-spec - and a rather large fuel tank to counteract the appetite for fuel at many mph.

I'd be looking at a Jaguar for that I think. Petrol of course, but with a massive tank. Aircon, satnav and a Spotify playlist; what else would you need?

A guitar-case sized object but not a guitar.

2,000 miles across Europe, i.e. roughly the distance to Sicily.

Delivered quickly. Money no object.

Are we arriving into a situation where the phrase "sends his regards" is likely to come up?

(I did want to participate by finding something stupid and American, but a brief search only turns up a ratty Lincoln Continental and a gigantic black Chrysler with a blowing exhaust, which sounds suboptimal for a 2,000 mile drive)
