Estate Car - Peugeot 508 or Volvo V60

I'm wanting to get an estate (poss saloon if they are cheaper or better value) and quite like at present the current shape V60 and the 508.
Looking at ideally 2018 on and between 15-20k max.
Requirements are;
Decent power 180bhp plus
Petrol or at the very least no DPF as there will be short journeys
Android auto
Decent spec (memory seats, leather, camera, heated wheel, LED lights)
Comfortable/relaxing on long journeys - a car that doesn't creak and rattle
Both the above seem to have this and are within budget.
As said above, doesn't have to be an estate but I quite like then and the useability but if an equivalent saloon is cheaper because it's less in fashion then happy days

Thank you, I'm not 100% on the insignia tbh but maybe just need to go look at and drive one.
The 508 is a handsome car, I'm just a little worried about Peugeot build quality of old but very much one i like.

My last 3 cars were 2017 320d m sport, 2020 Volvo S60 T5 and now I have a Peugeot 508 GT line.
I feel the Peugeot doesn't have the build quality of the other two. I would say my 508 is nice inside but quirky with a number of bugs.
The Volvo was the best built & my favourite car of the 3.
Given my time again I wouldn't buy the Peugeot.

V60 owner for 5 years. First Volvo ever.
Mine is a D4, had excess oil in the sum pump twice. My own fault as in both cases I was travelling to the airport and back (20miles each any) for a prolonged period of time. Both times got repaired through work and did not pay a penny but, Volvo would charge you £200 for a clean.
Apart from that.. not a single issues, no rattles, super comfortable, average 53mpg without trying.
Huge boot and plenty of space for the driver and passengers, but does t feel like a big car.
Not very engaging to drive and a Mercedes or Audi might be quieter on motorways journey.
With the right spec. a beautiful car and not many around. Mine is a bog standard momentum in dark grey, not the spec to go for…
Has all of the safety tech you can wish for and almost impossible to crash unless you are really trying.
I went for a manual as the auto can feel sluggish (I also never owned an auto so might expectations might differ).
Thinking to change it now that is touching 80K miles but can’t make my mind up what with.
I also considered a 508, never driven one but 160bhp didn’t seem enough for the type of car

Peugeot 508's are good but I don't think you'll find one with a heated steering wheel or memory seats.
You might struggle to get a V60 with your desired spec under budget. Here's a T5 with the spec you want

Don't dismiss the bigger V90, has more spec than the V60 and obviously more space!

Had a drive in an S60 T5 Inscription Plus on Saturday.
Actually quite liked it, seats were very comfy, fuel economy a tad lacking and the gearbox was at times a little 'off' - just like it couldn't truly decide on which gear to be in.
The car was a 20 plate, grey with cream leather and 26k on the clock
Just a touch over budget at 22k which I'd want to get down to around 20 - 2 years warranty and 2 services included in price with Volco finance.
Also considering now a 430i gran coupe - any thoughts on these? 19 plate, 33k on the clock but sub 20k.

I’ve got a 2019 V60 D4 and opted for the manual as also thought the auto was a bit dim witted. Regarding things like reversing camera, android auto these can be fitted by the dealer as an approved accessory. In terms of ownership mines been faultless since I picked it up as an approved Volvo Selekt vehicle last summer. However, I do find there are a number of niggles and annoyances. Some of the driver aids are well crap basically. The anti-collision is far too sensitive and I’ve had about a dozen heart attacks when it decides to apply the brakes (thankfully this can be disabled). Also things like the auto high beam assist and auto wipers are either massively over sensitive or just dim witted. The central touchscreen although it looks good I find fiddly to use.
It is a great family ‘do it all’, is comfy, goes quite well and has decent economy and I’m sure it’ll hold up well in the event of an accident. All the main reasons I bought it in the first place. However, it just all leaves me a bit cold to be honest it’s a white good to me nothing more which is a shame as I’m a real Volvo man at heart having grown up with the 244, 740 and 850 and still actually have a V70 and 940 in the ‘fleet’.

We're only a few months and 3k miles in, but we have a V60 II T4 in 'Momentum Plus' spec and its very nice indeed.
Looked for a D4 and the fuel economy is a bit better, but really wanted adaptive cruise control which appears was an uncommon spec option.
It was very hard to tell from the drivers position if you are in the D4 or the T4 when we where test driving.
Both of us love the car, very different to my E46 daily, but certainly a very nice place to be sat.
Main contender for us was the Gen4 Octaiva (150bhp 2l TDI dsg) which is also a very nice car, and maybe even a slightly better drive/gearbox in some respects, but the Volvo is certainly the more comfortable and better looking. We had several test drives in both and an hour with two equivalent cars parked side by side, similar prices for both.
