PCO registered car, what implications?

Hi folks, as above. I've seen more and more cars recently advertised as PCO registered, seern to be for limo or taxi purposes. What are the implications of buying a car with this classification attributed to it? I've had a look online and not much answers my question.

I'd be buying for private own use not for hire or reward. Is the responsibility of removing it with me as a buyer or the seller? Cheers

We tend to value them 20% less than a car not on the taxi register and there are lots of dealers who won’t touch them. Most are more worn due to short trips and extensive idle periods. We have also seen a fair number of private hire cars with altered or blocked mileage.

Thanks for the insight. I was thinking of wear n tear too like with speed bumps and maybe upholstery damage. I think I'll avoid them. Thanks
