Any thoughts on the above vehicle? I see that many of the car reviewing sites love it but there's always that stigma of buying French. I went for a test drive and absolutely loved it. Perfect for our family of one smile

Allure - sounds like a drunk person saying hello

Depends what you want the car for

I’ve never had any massive dramas with Peugeots

I believe they are wet belts

Gear boxes are used in many Marques

Yes the wet belt engine issue is a known problem. As long as you get it serviced regularly by a garage that knows the engine it shouldn't be an issue at all.

I am led to believe the wet belt issue has now been resolved. We have a car in our extended family that is a 22 plate and I inspect it from time to time, fingers crossed no dramas yet

I had a Citroen C3 Aircross - same platform, same engine.

Decent enough car, no issues, but I would be wary of a high-mileage example because of the belt.

Try the Citroen as well as the 2008.

Funny that - I"m actually upgrading from a Citroen C3. Buying brand new so won't be getting a high mileage vehicle.

Brand new with a manufacturer warranty and serviced with Peugeot they should be alright. I wouldn't buy a used one though.

They are a car that owners just seem to love which to me speaks volumes.

I’d considered a 308 with the same engine.

I believe they changed the belt design in 2018, so cars after that shouldn’t have the same issues. Regular oil changes are important as the belt disintegrates and blocks the engine.

I’ve driven the AT6 version in various Vauxhalls , it drives well and has good low down pulling power. Around town I thought it better than VWs dsg.
