What is the expectation when buying approved used (less than 2 years old) from a main dealer with regards to paintwork issues such as stone chips and other imperfections on a bonnet?

When you part ex or sell to Motorway etc they knock you down for every little issue claiming that they will have to be repaired prior to sale. Yet it seems from my recent experience that when buying approved used you should expect such damage to be present otherwise buy a new car.

In my experience this depends on the dealer group you are buying from, if you’re dealing with a Sytner owned dealer expect to see minimal bodywork prep…

The only cars free of stone chips are new ones. I'd probably expect them touched in, but I definitely wouldn't be expecting perfection.
