Looking to get a family car for under £10k, as a stop gap between leasing new cars. Apparently needs to be an SUV that's automatic with parking sensors/cameras. What's the best option with the limited budget.
Thinking Volvo XC60 fairly old for budget (ford and landrover engines), lexus rx400h, expect batteries will be dead due to age. Nissan qashqai bit slow and boring and maybe not that durable although newer for money.
Are BMW X3 and Audi Q5 reliable at this sort of age or likely to lead to big bills.
Anything else recommend.

There's another £8-10k automatic SUV thread in play at the moment - might be worth a read as a lot of ideas are played with in there.

Simples, the QX50 is the pick, 360 cameras sensors heated steering wheel/seats sunroof etc, they don't come with carplay/android auto but this can be added.

Freelander 2 in HSE or HSE Lux spec would be my suggestion - mine has been fantastic.

It’s surprisingly capable for a soft-roader and has been better than any of my Discos on wet and muddy ground. It’s been mildly amusing driving straight past stuck XC90s, Q5s and the like that have got stuck on the wet and muddy grass at the rugby every week.

It’s a bit wobbly with its handling but is a decent motorway cruiser and I did 10 hours of driving in it the other day no bother. The interior is hard wearing and the children seem incapable of destroying it.

There’s tons of them still on the roads round us and it’s well known for being one of land Rovers most reliable products. I really like it and will keep it until it dies, even when it’s finished its family lugging duties.
