Am I daft to consider a swap?

I've been looking at the AWD 3.0 F-Type coupes as a swap from my Boxster S. Cars in the 2017/18 range are sub 40k which to me seems a lot of car for the money.

The other choice would be the 2.5 GTS Cayman but they are holding strong residuals about 5-10k more for similar age and mileage.

Any F-Type owners that have driven both platforms?

Edit: Should state it's a 2014 Boxster

Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything that the F-Type will do better than the Boxster except for that beautiful soundtrack and being a car that tends to just feel special all of the time.

I’d like to move from mine in to a current shape Vantage but the mrs is refusing to let the F go and, if I’m honest with myself, it really does deliver a hell of a lot of good looks, fun to drive and relatively low running costs for the now very reasonable price.

A 15k mile 2017 AWD came up for sale on the owners group yesterday for £34k which feels like an absolute bargain.

My only regret is that I didn’t delay the purchase another 6months to get myself in to an early SVR, however I’m sure my neighbours are thankful to not have that beast fire up early in the mornings.

Sort of how I'm viewing it. Most of the depreciation is done, baby Vantage styling for not a huge outlay above what I could get for the Boxster.

Cheers.
