From RX450h to E Class... import?

I'm getting tired of the relatively rubbish boot space in my RX (for the size of vehicle) but love the relaxed driving experience, decent power and ample space in the back seats. So, given estate cars seem much better value than the equivalent aged/ mileage/ spec SUV at the moment, I'm thinking of a E Class at c.£10-15k.

I don't do the miles to warrant diesel so I'm left with limited petrol options... BUT I've seen some tasty looking Japanese imports with the V6 petrol engines or even the 2 litre. Thoughts on such a move from an import perspective but also driving/ usability POV would be welcomed.
