Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a 'medium' sized SUV for my olde Mum & Dad.
By 'medium' i mean Discovery Sport/Ford Kuga sized, that sort of thing.

The key aspects for them are:
1. Reliable - Any hassle with a car would be a bit of a nightmare.
2. Low Insurance group (They are both over 80 and are being hammered for insurance costs)
3. Comfortable
4. Automatic
5. As new and as low mileage as possible, but higher mileage ok if the car is likely to be reliable longer term.

Not too bothered about depreciation.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Don't need 4x4
The Juke is too small though, we've tried one of those.
They have a dog to jump in the back...

Be careful re tide height.

MIL struggled to climb in our Duster, dog prefers jumping into lower cars too.

Honda HR-V. Based on the Jazz / Fit platform. I have one, the wife has one and my 80 yr old parents have one as well...
A bit taller to get into than a Jazz, more headroom and has the funky magic seats.
For the money you'd probably get a '20 reg EX or lower spec a little newer.
I like mine, it was ex demo EX diesel, so loaded with 18" wheels and body kit, maybe the ride is better on smaller wheels but it returns 60+ mpg all the time.

I'd steer clear of a Disco Sport if you are after reliability...

My sister got a 2 year old Nissan Qashqai automatic about a year ago, which should fit the bill for your parents as well, I think she paid around £17-18k for it and has met her needs and not had to spend a penny on it yet.
