Scammer update - Over pay, Cheque, Refund

I am a serious and legit buyer, I saw the pictures and I'm fine with the Price £12,000 I know that is also fine with you , and willing to purchase it, I will send you a Cheque of £17,000 for payment and after the money is in your account you will have to send the Extra on the check which is £5,000 to my agent That will stand for the shipment, Taxes and other miscellaneous, I will provide for transportation. Do not worry about the shipping, I have my private Shipping and transporting agent that will come to your Home for the pick-up at your home and all necessary paper will be signed in my name. I want to make a proper arrangement to the shipment to avoid delays.

I didn’t realise this old classic was still knocking around. I know someone that got done with it around 20 years ago when selling a private plate. As soon as they said what was happening I told them to contact the bank, but too late. The cheque bounced and when the bank showed it them, it wasn’t even a good fake. It was laughable, but these scams rely on greed and there’s always a mug just around the corner.
