My niece is about to start her first “proper” job and will be travelling between sites on a regular basis. She will get mileage but no company car. Roughly 10 -12k per year. Looking for a hatchback with enough presence on the motorway (not Aygo, C1, i10 size).
I guess petrol as diesel is no longer acceptable and she does NOT want an EV.

Looking for a lease for 2 - 3 years. What would Pistonheads recommend?
Is it the default Corsa (really?), Polo, Clio selection. Any other ideas?

Hard to believe it’s 6 years ago now, but we replaced my partner’s 2014 Audi A3 with the then new Seat Ibiza in FR trim (1.0TSi with, I think, 115 bho, and a DSG box) which turned out to be a cracking little car. Unfortunately after being driven into a stone wall at speed it was written off, but it also did a great job of protecting the driver!!

Thanks - SEAT always look like the stylish, value proposition from VAG.
Better styled than SKODA but less expensive than Audi/VW.

Thanks for the thought.

Take a look at the Astra you'll get a good deal on those, also take a look at the lease thread as you'll get to see if there are any good deals out there.

Good shout, I used to be a regular follower on the lease thread, I will search it out.

Dacia Sandero Stepway, the latest one has an excellent ride and enough toys. Cheap to run and a few decent deals about.

My 19yr old son has just got a Seat Ibiza FR Sport 1.0TSI 110ps (manual but DSG available) which is a very nice car, decent spec although no parking sensors!

Price is decent as well, there is UK stock so soon available if required.

Basically this car in this blue but manual - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z_7vd3lVac

LeaseLoci is worth a look

As a non electric car I reckon the Peugeot 408 is a smashing deal for £250 a month at 12k miles.

Also Ford Puma for £215 a month but not as well equipped.

I'd also advocate a Seat Ibiza FR or the one that my sister-in-law is after, an Audi A1, which I believe is now the same size as the original A3
