Seen an advert for a 2013 1 Series 2.0 120d Sport Plus Edition that I like the look of, and was wondering if anyone owns one or has in the past and could give me their opinions on them.

Reliability, fuel use ect.

Thanks in advance.

How many miles/price?

The 2.0d of this era does have certain issues with its chain.

It’s a 2013 with 62,000 for £7,870

I'd be buying a Mercedes with the nigh on bulletproof 2.1d:

These have a bigger boot than the 120d & are a step up in everyway.

Or if you are set on a BMW a 330d might be a better alternative.

I had a 120D SE 2012 from 2017 to 2019, did 30,000 miles in it, completely reliable and averaged 52 mpg, some short journeys but not much sitting in traffic.
With the sport button pressed it felt decently in the usual diesel torquey way but never handled as well as I expected a BMW to, as an SE it was on 16 inch wheels with fairly high profile tyres, not sure where a Sport Plus Edition fits in but if I had another (unlikely) I would look for an M Sport.

I had a choice of 120d or Golf GTD as a company car a few years ago.
I went with the Golf. It just a seemed a better all rounder and was a lot more practical.
