Any experience with Hippo Leasing?

They have some quite good used deals on I pace and Velars.

They call it leasing but been explained it’s actually PCP, still good deals regardless.

Any good/horror stories?

They appear to have a warranty that can be added, seems to make sense if going for one of the above models.

Any personal anecdotes would be great.

I can't comment on Hippoy directly but please don't take any comfort in the warranty that can be purchased unless you get a copy of the paperwork and read it cover to cover. Unfortunately the vast majority of 3rd party warranties have significant chunks of failure points that aren't covered, a fun one for cars like the iPace is that many don't cover electrical and/or battery faults, you know... the ones that would really cost you.

Exactly, what warranty do you get?

It needs to be as good as a manufacturer warranty otherwise your carrying the risk

So circa £600 a year multiplied by some years gets you that list

Whilst it says charging system, battery(ies) are absent, as is anything engine related apart from exhaust and oil.

Also mia are electrical items that will be embedded throughout the car: alarms, nav, locking, lights - the car will be full of them.

I wonder if eml just means switching it off? Or diagnosis? Or a fix of the underlying cause?

Many of the items listed just seem like consumables, or things that could be bought elsewhere for £600 a year.

However, maybe I'm just being picky? as I've never had a car new enough to need a warranty: manufacturer or otherwise.

My takeaway from looking at used car leasing is the interest rates are horrible and the lack of dealer incentive makes them virtually as expensive as new cars. However this was from before COVID, and I've not really kept up since.

There’s a comprehensive list of what is and isn’t covered on the site.

https://www.hippoleasing.co.uk/hippo-protect-warra...

For an EV the battery tends to be under a long manufacturer warranty anyway, for ipace I believe it’s 8 years or 100k miles.
