I’ve recently moved to Spain and the plan was to keep the wife’s A4 avant (2017) and suck up the steering wheel being on the wrong side.

We’ve managed to get the registration on Spanish plates down from €6k to €1.5k but want to consider what I could lease for circa €450 a month.

Anyone out there with knowledge in the Spanish markets?

Plenty here: https://driverevel.com/coches

In Spain "renting" is equivalent ish to leasing.

Personally, would recommend buying outright new in Spain. Cars hold their value unbelievably well.

Thank you. I’ll take a look.

Do you think there’s any point advertising my wife’s car in Spain or just drive it back and sell it in the UK?

Hi I have just moved to Spain as well

Also looking into this- how did you manage to get from €6k to €1.5k?

Let me know how you get on.

We have been dealing with a guy who sorted out our visas and seems familiar with the legal workings here. He basically compiled a load of paperwork and presented them to customs to say the vehicle was part of our household property which due to relocation, had to be moved over with us. Basically, no import tax!

Drive the old car back and sell it in the UK. Buy a Spanish car in Spain. You live there now. Embrace that and do what the locals do.
