Paint Damage when Car Collected
Discussion
I collected a 9-month old ex-demonstrator from a main dealer on Wednesday.
On collection I spotted some fairly deep scratches in the recess for the drivers door handle. I'm not sure if these were present when I inspected the car or if the were done since.
The dealer manager has been good and has offered to put the problem right.
He says there are two options: either attempt to just touch in the area of damage which may not look perfect .....OR.....re-pain tthe whole door which would then need the two adjacent panels re-painted......so ending up with the whole right side of the car re-painted.
Any thoughts on which option?
My first instinct is that re-painting the whole side of the car might cause more problems that it solves.
Also, as compensation they have offered a free GardX treatment for the outside and inside of the car. Any downsides of this?
Cheers

I'd probably opt for a touch up, flatted back they should make a reasonable job of it. A very vulnerable area so unless very careful it'll just get scratched again, rings are the killer. GardX won't do any harm (except to your wallet if you have to pay for it) At least your car will come back nicely valeted.
