Good morning all.
my son has a 2017 5 door i10 and a 1year old baby so fitting associated paraphernalia in the car can be a struggle !
Have any of you fitted a roofbox to one of these, and if so can I ask which one ?
I have googled it but I'm not sure it's feasible.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi there, I'm afraid I can't offer specific advice on the i10, but I would be careful of the weight that high up on a small, light car.

I put a roofbox onto out Land Rover Discovery in the summer, the first time I had used one. Now admittedly, we did cram it full, mainly clothes packed into vacuum bags, but I was really surprised at how you could feel it on the car. Even more ponderous than normal and definitely felt it on corners.

So, I wouldn't say don't do it but be aware of the weight, the size of the box and the need to take it easy.

May be worth trying a used one off ebay before investing, that way you can sell it again for the same money (or more in spring) if it's no good.

Why not? Go for it: https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.ph...

You're going to need to be creative on roofboxes. Ideally one that is short enough that the rear hatch can open and not too wide to fit on the roofbars.

Looks feasible... albeit, this isn't a 2017 model

Roof load limit is 50kg on that year of i10 (that's dynamic load for cornering, not static load).

Halfords or online can find you all the kits. Or on the cheap fins the Thule part numbers then look for them second hand as people are often shifting on Thule parts when they change car.

The issue with a small car is that a long roof box can stop the boot hatch opening fully.

Thanks all. A small trailer isn't an option. He lives on a street in East London with no off street parking !

A friend of mine has a roof box in her Kia picanto without any issues and the two cars are a similar size (and possibly related) so I don’t see why not.
