Help me o pistonheads!! 😁

Been a car nut since I was a kid. I’ve had a few interesting cars, Elise’s, Caterham, hot hatches etc. All gone as house and kids took priority and my cash!

Now looking to get a weekend toy back in my life, as I miss having an interesting car so much.

Challenge is, I have up to 40K and my garage is tiny. I need to be able to garage the car, as I don’t want to leave outside on the drive. My garage will just about fit a Tvr Griffith or Lotus Elise.

I love the idea of a higher powered Caterham, but worried it is too compromised and I will just end up using it for trackdays. I’ve had two S2 Elise’s, so thinking a 250 cup might do the trick.

Anything else with fun and character that will fit the garage?

Cheers

You might sneak into a v10 R8 manual. Probably won’t fit but it’ll be fine outside

Lotus Evora is a great option:

Never thought of one of these. They do look a bit different, but can’t imagine there will be much character, especially as it is EV

I've had a couple of i8's, great car as a daily, but I wouldn't say as a weekend toy, they do handle very well though due to the lightness, the 3 cylinder sounds good too, and helped by the motors at the front.

Another option, the Alfa Romeo 4C, very special car to drive, and looks as well, although they're quite wide.

Pretty much any TVR will be packed full of character. Would never sell my Tuscan, great fun and surprisingly civilised and refined

Size wise, only a griff or tamora will fit in the garage (surprised how small the tamora is). Griff feels like a safer bet on running costs, however the tamora is more modern and likely to be better suited to the odd trackday

Elise sounds perfect. I have an Exige now but wish I’d of gone Caterham sometimes.

987 Cayman R or new GR86 both quite narrow so should be able open the doors just enough to get out of a small garage.

Like the idea of the Cayman R, but it’s too long. Thinking Elise/Exige is the best option

Don’t think it is special enough for a weekend car. For a daily, I would love it

My Tuscan fits in my tiny garage and is for sale!

Super characterful cars, I've never gotten out of mine without a smile.

Why not try one and make your mind up? You never know.
