So... I have a need for a replacement to the free (from Father in law) Astra H I've had for 5 years. It's been better than expected but I need an auto because I'm doing more miles stuck in traffic.

This is the criteria

- 5 door hatch or estate
- not diesel. Can be petrol, Hybrid or Electric
- decent handling
- automatic
- 200bhp or more. Ideally 300bhp.
- 2016 or newer
- c£15k or less.
- not an M135i or LEON Cupra. Already owned both. 2 of the Cupra. It's the obvious choice.

Obvious choices are some kind of Skoda/SEAT LEON or Golf.

Any other suggestions from personal experience along the lines of a LEON Cupra. Golf GTI I suspect is the answer but then I end up back at the LEON because for the money the car is newer, spec is better and has more power.

We looked at the Clio Trophy recently.
Certainly more interesting than the German fare.

Might be a bit small and 8bhp short, but great to drive - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202304106...
