JDM 2015 VW Golf R estate?

I have seen a very reasonable price 2015 Golf R estate with leather and good spec for less than £12k landed in the uk.

I believe the old radio/nav will be an issue but I plan to swap out for an Android unit.

It appears the rear fog can be coded back in.

Insurance is no more expensive than the equivalent UK model

Apart from an IVA (circa £200) MOT, registration is there anything I am missing or overlooked?

JDM means Japanese Domestic Market, the Golf isn't JDM, just an import. So higher insurance etc and are they not ten a penny?

Probably not any huge issues with it other than those you have already highlighted, I suspect it won't have an service history with it? Or if it does it won't be easily legible which probably knocks the value somewhat but then that's reflected in the price too.

Have you inspected/translated the auction sheet yet? Does it have a Jevic certificate? £12k seems rather low (more so if trade) as the cheapest I can see in Japan seem to go for around the 2m Yen mark, which is around the £16k once landed. It would have to be a really cheap/poor car to be £12k landed. Or you just might drop lucky.
