High Mileage 2014 330d estate - worth the risk?
Discussion
Hi,
Looking for some help and feedback on possibly issues with purchase of a 125k mile 330d estate, 2014.
I am looking for a load-lugger for £10k that has decent power and is nice to drive, has decent fuel economy and is a nice place to sit.
2013/2014 330d wagons fit this bill, and there are a few now around the £10k mark. Just a question for those who have run these at similar mileages, am I likely to be picking up big bill after big bill? Standard stuff of looking for low owner counts, consistent mileage and MOT history that isn't raising red flags etc.
Or is there something specific that should have been done from a preventative maintenance point of view that I should factor in to my search?
Thanks in advance

2014 330d purchased new, normal servicing, only big spend has been discs / pads as expected. No problems to date and sitting at 165k miles.Looking for some help and feedback on possibly issues with purchase of a 125k mile 330d estate, 2014.

Just had a couple of recalls (AGR & Drivers Airbag) carried out, maybe check these have been completed.
Prior to above, run a E46 330d for 14 years and 250k miles with no issues, same exhaust and clutch…….
Great commuting and driving cars……only my experience, but no issues on 2 330d with combined 415k.
Ran a 2014 F31 330d from 30k to 100k. It was mapped under my ownership with a few other upgrades (brakes, intercooler).
Generally, very solid in S-Drive form, can't speak for X-Drive.
I did replace the rear shocks at 100k as both were seaping oil. I also did a fair bit of preventative maintenance as i was doing around 20k/year and needed 100% reliablity - things such as glowplugs, tensioner, aux belt, steering rack bush, discs and pads).
The key to those engines (N57) is regular servicing - oil changes (9-10k), fuel filter, correct warm up and warm down procedure and using good quality diesel.
With the above in mind, they are good engines with nice performance - but sadly a lot are neglected, ran on the cheap and not cared for in the correct way.
I changed to a G31 530d - engine is standard and it is great, but the weight difference is certainly noticeable.
