I found 5 cars on Pistonheads in the UK for less than £20,000, with over 500hp, 0-60mph in under 5 seconds and with less than 50,000 miles. Is anyone else surprised how rare such performance cars are? What is the best performance car under £20,000, with over 500hp, 0-60 under 5 seconds and less than 50,000 miles? I'd love Pistonheads to do that story. Only three such cars on Pistonheads can carry a family of five. Your thoughts are invited. I say a 2010 AMG E63 with performance pack and all the fruit.

I bought my CLS63 with 17k on it for £21k and those prices have remained fairly close.
I'd say CLS/E 55 or 63. 475bhp or 510bhp respectively, more torque from the supercharged 55 though. Easy to pick up for under £20k but mileage may be over 50k. You'd probably find the likes of CL63s or CL600s in that price range but a much riskier and more expensive car to run.

or a V10 RS6 would be almost there but that’d need slightly higher budget and/or miles. ETA M5 estate with the V10 nearly makes it. Getting into bankruptcy territory here
