Jaguar XF Diesel has to go - advice on a replacement

Good evening all

Due to the imminent expansion of the ULEZ in London, my beloved and very well looked after 2009 jaguar XF 3.0ds has to go. I can probably add max 5k to it's value which is going to be at best 4k (106k miles, 8 previous owners) and the new car needs to be compliant so petrol basically. I was thinking a higher mileage 3, 5 or even 7 series but experience tells me they will likely be money pits, maybe an Audi? Any suggestions or thoughts gratefully received.

Have you considered swapping it for the 3.0 petrol version?

What about a newer XF, both petrol and diesels will be ULEZ compliant.

Similar class, quick, fairly economical, ultra reliable and ULEZ compliant. Tax is a reasonable £310

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I think I've decided to stick with my Jag for now, I have had all the likely things that need doing done, and if I suck up the ULEZ charge for a year and save some more in 12 months I'll be in a position to add more money to a part exchange and make it more worthwhile and not just for the sake of ULEZ. Really appreciate everyone's time and suggestions (that lexus ain't 'alf tempting mind!)

That's a shame. It would be good if an app was created showing all the roads where the cameras had been disabled then you could try and stick to those roads lol

I can understand why you want to keep a car you know Jason.

I've had my 2005 BMW 330i for over 4 years now and it hasn't been a money-pit, even though it has done over 120K miles. Luckily it is also ULEZ compliant seeing as my sister lives in Sutton!
