10 mile commute on exclusively B roads. What car?

Looking for help on what would be a recommended car for a 10 mile commute on exclusively b roads.
New job means I will be in the office 4 days a week. But new office is only down the road. Based in Northern Ireland so there aren’t a massive amount of motorways or dual carriageways
Would be looking to spend maybe up to 10k for the right car.
We have a Land Cruiser for the winter months which the Mrs daily drives currently.
Be interested to see what everyone would go for.

I used to enjoy blasting 20 miles in each direction along B roads about 20 years ago - first in an MX-5 and then a S2000. It's quite nice to leave the office and drop the lid on any car and forget about work. Enjoyment will depend traffic levels, viability will depend on having another sensible car in the household. It was quite nice in winter too with the top down - the only time I questioned my choices was when I found myself in the S2000 driving through heavy snow.
So, in my humble view, something light and convertible.

An EV would be ideal, I believe you can pick up a leaf under budget.
Motorways is where EV range drops, but on B roads you are fine. Plus the instant torque means you can make the most of the acceleration opportunities. Top speed isn't that important.
Plugged in overnight it's fully charged, you may also be able to precondition the cabin too.

I’ve driven a 2011 mx5 recently only the 1.8 admittedly! Cracking little car!

Hadn’t thought about the Leaf. But I’m not sure I can do it to myself. It’s an awful looking car! Cracking idea though!
