Lease car sold to someone else

Hi there just looking for advice,

Had a quote for a lease car on the quote it says it is valid till 31st of this month. I completed the finance application and was approved and then the lease company has said the car is gone and have come back with a lower spec for more money. Where do I stand?

A quote is not a contract. It is an invitation to do business. If someone else gets in before you, unlucky.

Why do you feel you are entitled to anything just because you're disappointed? You think they only offered that deal to you?

No I'd just rather not have credit searches done on my file for no reason.

Then take the lesser specced car after negotiation of a reduced rate?

Or wait for another car to arrive of the same spec, if there's an indication this could happen before your quote expires?

How were they to know you weren't prepared to accept the alternative? It's probably in the small print that you didn't read

OP this is called 'bait and switch' and is very annoying.

There is no real comeback other than - if you're that type - expressing your views on all the usual soc-med channels...
