Lighten up FFS! I was thrilled when I bought a manual V8 Rover 3500S when I was 20. If the internet had existed back in 1979 I'd have been gushing about it!

They are an absolute heap of crap. Mt best mate bought one new, a diesel estate, in 2007 and it was a constant drain on his wallet.
He kept if until last year because it had depreciated so much it was worth nothing and it only had 65K miles after 15 years because he preferred to drive his partner's car whenever possible over the 300C.
Poorly built, unreliable and expensive to run.

I had one 4 years ago for 6 months, having wanted one for years. I may have had a bad one (it only cost me a grand), but constantly chasing suspension knocking got tiring. I loved the looks and it was very comfortable. I had a diesel and it was more then fast enough, and was a actually quite fun to drive. But the suspension issues alone meant I got rid. Oh and it dumped it's gearbox oil on my drive and ate glow plugs. It and my Tesla MY are the only cars I have ever owned that I wouldn't recommend. Although as I said I may have been unlucky.

I really like the look of these. I only do ~6k miles a year, with a 4 mile commute, so fuel bills shouldn't matter much either. It'd be the 3.5L petrol.
Are they reliable overall? Seems to be a Mercedes in a frock.
While typing this out, I've just now decided I'm getting one
I'll get the Bentley badges on order.
OP - While knowing little about them, I'd say go for it. Beats a Fiesta or whatever else people your age and using. I'm surprised insurance is cheap though!

I really liked the look of these about 10 years ago when they'd depreciated massively. Then by chance I happened to get in one that was a taxi and it was a bloody hateful thing. Looked horrifically cheap and nasty and put me right off.
If there's any other options on the table I'd almost certainly go for them
