Looking at buying a 2017 Ford Focus 1.5 TDCi

Will be a long term car for me, 6-8 years hopefully.

Is this engine generally reliable if serviced properly?

Would like to think it could do 150k miles fairly easily.

Any thoughts appreciated

They're a good engine personally I'd always take the 2.0d it's only a smidge worse on fuel & overall better suited to the Focus but reliability wise there's no reason not to buy one.

I had a 2016 as a courtesy car for a few weeks. It was outrageously good on fuel and fine on the mway. Was a nice everyday steer.

Another thumbs up. Decent diesel engines.

Some had recalls for the cam sprocket so when getting the belt done it might be worth changing this too.
