3 owners in 18 months?

I know, I know, just ask the dealer but they’re closed and I thought I’d ask the late night ph shift for their thoughts.
Seen a used car that from a main dealer (although not their brand) that’s had 3 owners in just 18 months and only covered 6.5k miles. It’s got my spidey senses tingling but am I being a little too picky?
Appreciate that it may be preregistered by the dealer but then two further owners? The car is nothing that special, just a humdrum DS but it just screams (to me) of a car that’s had an unresolved issue that the previous owner has given up on.
Thoughts?

If it's a main dealer you got more chance of interrogating them (for partial honest) answers on it so just ask.
I bought a Sportage last year that was 5 years old and on 25k (and number plate from Cornwall miles away)....I asked them and the bloke gave the story, they were an old couple from Cornwall who go on holiday where we bought it and traded it in buying another motor at the spur of the moment. It painted a better picture.
