Looking at buying a vehicle and the owner is overseas. They’ve made an arrangement with a third party to sort the sale using an escrow agreement. Has anyone here ever bought using this method, anything to look out for?
The company is RGF Transport based in Chesham….
These sorts of arrangements always scream scam to me.The company is RGF Transport based in Chesham….
For example a quick google finds no hits for “ rgf transport” but turns up RGF haulage and RGF Logistics and neither are based in Chesham.

On the other hand a quick Google comes up with the following. Still no idea if scam though. For example a quick google finds no hits for “ rgf transport” but turns up RGF haulage and RGF Logistics and neither are based in Chesham.

They have a website… https://rgftransport.com
Look, if you want to lose your money, go for it. Just don't come back whining like a pussy when it happens.Several posters have warned you that this is a SCAM. Not only that, it's one of the oldest scams around.
As PaulV posted, the website was registered 3 days ago - just for this scam.
You can't say you weren't warned.

Is this topic an attempt to drive people to the scam by the OP? If not, OP I have a bridge you might be interested in.

I’ve still no idea whether or not a scam but equally I just don’t understand some of the replies here.
R.G.F transport in Chesham was established in 2008 ( according to companies house ) and the website loads as any other web site and appears to make comments on both escrow arrangements and single car transport.
Perhaps the OP can send them en email to find out if genuine or print up the “ scam “ reply.

Just don't send an email to the address on the website. Oh, and don't call the number either (Chesham dial code is 01494 fwiw not 0208).
ETA; the Chesham address is an Accountants. One of the directors of R.G.F is based in Luton and the other lists occupation as a Multi-Drop Courier.

Thanks all, especially those that had a root around about their website. My gut feel on this was always “if it’s too good to be true, then it usually is” and your help has confirmed this. Thanks
Goodness. 'gut feel', all of this crap is a scam. Don't even consider this type of payment. Be extra careful with private purchases, bank transfer only and make sure you trust the person you see in person.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
