Need advice please, I’ve recently joined Copart & bought a car, a couple of days ago my nephew bid on a car and won the auction, I told them it wasn’t me, but they are demanding £2k as the Land Rover was over £20k, I can’t afford pay the £2k never mind buy the car. Anybody had a similar experience? And what are my options

For context, how old is your nephew? Is this a case of a child messing about with your laptop or is it an adult using your Copart account?

He’s only 12 years old, I wish he had the money too

If it was not you, just tell them it was not you. Although they may query how someone else had access to your account.

I think all you can do is explain the circumstances to Copart, be extremely apologetic and see what they say. I don't know how you'd stand from a contractual point though.

Quoted just in case.
Expensive lesson learned not to store log ins on computer.

Could always try speaking to them? silly

Your options are you pay the 2k or you don't.

If you dont then no doubt copart will black list you permanently, they may also take legal proceedings against you for the cash you owe under the terms you agreed to when you joined.

The old 'it wasnt me getting carried away bidding. It was my nephew...honest' line.

Copart will likely ban you and then chase you for the £2k.

I have emailed them backwards & forwards today, if I get blacklisted I would lose my £100 per year membership, has anyone been prosecuted by them?

His nephew created a PH profile to get him out of the stink.
