I filtered by max. 6k; post 2010; min. 6 cyl and the result is only 8 cars on PH yikes
From those 8, this is Merc my pick. Followed by this Lexus and the Beemer.

I'm not sure any of those could be classed as 'fun'!

Get a hot hatch from around 10 years back, there's loads to pick from and they are all decent.

Pretty much the same I've been looking at for next time. For me, it's currently between:

Abarth 500

Depends on you definition of fun, but I get your point.
The Merc is fun getting going in the first place, if you consider this fun. And with the spring having begun yesterday, some open top cruising can be considered fun by some people.

But no, they aren‘t ’fun‘ the same way a Pug 106 GTI is fun for instance.

Other than the MX5 posted , I'm not seeing much fun so far

Slightly over budget but may be worth a haggle

It all depends on what you class as fun.

Fun to a lot is a hot hatch, or as listed above you want a bit more refinement that can be hustled along (so the Mercedes/Infiniti/BMW come into play) then there's things like a 350Z/Z4 etc are also in budget.

So you need to give a bit more criteria.

Indeed. I've had fun driving around at the speed limit in a luxury barge. More info needed.

If you really want fun, bite the bullet and buy a bike. Plus the inevitable sulk during the winter only makes you appreciate it more come spring.
