Pretty sure it's their responsibility to be happy with the car before buying it, once sold, the car is theirs.

You are a private seller not a business, you sell as seen and they take their chances, no come backs.

Just go buy a new car.

I feel sorry for them, people give the motor trade a bad name but people such as yourself are worse.

I believe you have to state if the car is mechanical sound as part of the valuation process so potentially they could come after you, however in reality I doubt they will and you will be in the clear.

Hopefully the car you buy next doesn't have hidden none disclosed issues...

A very lowlife thing to do, regardless of the buyer IMO.

WBAC buy at below private value and flip most cars through secondary dealers or at auction. They are well aware that people offload cars with issues, I would imagine almost every car that goes through their hands has one hidden issue or another. This is all within their business model and a level of costs are planned for, more over, the big savings they make buying in the way they do, more than cover most repairs that may come up.

As with the car mentioned above, WBAC have the means to repair the suggested issues and flip the car without a loss, that's if they even bother, they would most likely put it through the ringer and let someone else take the hit.

WBAC are hardly innocent victims of some kind of scam as suggested above, just another corporate giant making millions, in a large part from other peoples misfortune.

Last time I sold them a car (3-4 years ago) the t&C's stated something along the lines of:

If we buy a car from you, we are relying upon your representation that:....to the best of your knowledge and belief... you have disclosed to us all matters which a prudent purchaser would want to know about, such as physical defects (eg if it has any material mechanical problems or damage).

Now given they inspect the car to their own satisfaction before buying I'm not sure how enforceable this would be, but I wouldn't like to have to be the one to test it.

I'm sure plenty of duffers get sold on to them every day, I wouldn't spend much time worrying about it now it's done.

Sure the multi million pound company that is we buy and car who are notorious for screwing people over on the price of their cars have done considerably worse to others

I would imagine that is only the case if the seller told them the chain had been done, otherwise, just like any buyer, they need to check that this information is correct/maintenance has been documented before making the purchase. I can't imagine there is much recourse after a sale is agreed and paid for.

Was a great service, I wasn’t screwed over. Well not as much as the main dealer wanted to!
