Sub £17k estate

As part of a big car shuffle, i'm looking for something a little larger and auto to replace the 2017 family civic.

it'll do 10k per year. I've an electric car, however if I need to do a mega day, i'll have to take this car(400odd mile day).

I can't see past this

Needs to fit 5. A dog or 2. be ok to towign a motorbike trailer.

I have just sold a Merc E350 Bluetec, was a lovely car with a great engine and plenty of comfort and room. Worth a look imo.

If you peer round the side of it can you see any 530Ds or E350ds?

Well, this is stretching your budget, but there are others cheaper than this one, this just looks a good one. Great performance and should tick your boxes, maybe not quite as much room as the 5 series though. Certainly more interesting from my perspective though.

A 520d is hardly a supercar!

Your back (and backside) will certainly appreciate the Volvo's seat and the interior's a lovely place to while away the hours, along with the Pilot Assist.

Jag is Euro 5 as well, which may not matter but it will become more and more restrictive.

I'd be looking at A6 Avant ~2015. I replaced a tired CRV with one, for family duties, and it's easily one of the best cars I've owned. Eats up the miles and does 45mpg everywhere.

I'd take the Jag over that, it will be cheaper to run too. Audis seem to suffer with adblue issues, they run 2 EGR valves one of which takes 10 hours to change and then there is the DSG box ........

E350 o r XF for me.

If a bit of excitement is required, the CLS might be a better steer. All the seats look equally worn, ex executive taxi? And the boot opening is quite small.

One is easier to change than the other and genuine parts are not too bad.

Still takes hours to do EGR valves on XF.

Some inherent design faults with the XF that can result in thousands of pounds of repairs for each issue. Many other common issues that can be very annoying.

I love Jaguars, lovely cars to drive and own, but I'll still be honest about their flaws and potential bills. I do recall now that you have some obsessive bias against Audi.

Value option, insignia will do everything bar excite you.

Personally though I reckon I’d go for an early current gen superb estate
