Hi All,

Found a nice looking Swift Sport for sale, 2008. Always fancied one.

I asked a few questions and got this reply:

Would this be a total no no or should it be alright?

Thanks all

Lack of use is probably a bigger issue than lack of servicing.

You'd have to spend money on replacing things like tyres that are past it on age rather than miles, and whatever else has stopped working while it has sat around.

If it is suitably cheap then I'd go for it.

(Swifts are pretty good value anyway, so there might not be room for a decent discount)

If the price reflects the amount you're going to spend giving it a service & another oil change in a few months time then it wouldn't make me run a mile BUT that would depend on if I could verify that it's only 2.5k in those 7 years & not 25k.

At least the sellers being honest.

"Mrs learnt to drive in it" would put me off as the clutch might have taken a battering however it really all depends on price and whether it's worth the risk.

It's £2200. 2 door. Looks tidy. MOT until October.

MOT check should tell you if the mileage claim is true.

No maintenance in 7 years would probably put me off but you can do your checks.

If its been used regularly on 7 year old oil is that likely to cause any problems?

For 2.2k, get a bit off the price for a service - replace all fluids, sparks, tyres etc and take a punt.
