When scrapping a car what parts can you take off?

Am I the only one that thinks the question makes perfect sense? Not sure why the hostility. E.g. if you would get 300 quid for scrapping an old shed, if you removed the radio, would you still get 300 quid? What about the wing mirrors? Etc. Taking cats off - v unlikely to get same amount.
Nobody scraps ferraris so the above responses are nonsensical. It is clear he is talking about old bangers.

Just be up front with the scrapyard about what you’ve taken off and they’ll adjust the price accordingly. That’s what I did when I broke a car, just make sure it has wheels on it so they can move it easily.
Or find a scrap merchant with a hiab. Have sent cars for scrap in the past that have been taken straight off the axle stands.Scrapped an MX5 once without wheels. Was a nightmare. Nobody wanted to collect it.
A guy finally turned up and was still unable to take it without wheels. We ended up putting two wheels on it and picked up the other end like a wheelbarrow. Then we dropped it. Was like a comedy sketch. The guy finally got it on his flatbed and said to my Dad and I "in the nicest way possible I hope I never see you two again".

Back in 2021 they posted a thread about one of their cars supposedly being stolen after they'd cancelled their insurance, but miraculously the Police found / recovered the car in short order. OP then went on a massive rant blaming the Police for everything because they cost him ££££ as they wouldn't let him on to their storage site so that he could break it for parts to be sold on Facebook, Gumtree, etc, as he didn't want to pay to recover the car
A few months later followed another thread where a relative supposedly had their classic car stolen, but decided to cancel the insurance and not make a claim, but once again the Police just happened to find the car in the really short period in the meantime but this time decided to crush it without the owners permission

I’ve scrapped mine intact.
I successfully scrapped a big 4x4 minus the very big and very expensive battery I had fitted a couple of days before it was written off.
The rare and original walnut handbrake grip on my current Rover 75 is provably worth more than the rest of the car so saving that will be a must if the car ever has to go.
